One person has died in an officer-involved shooting in Northwest Nashville | Media Pyro

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Police are on the scene of another officer-involved shooting that left one person dead.

The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. Saturday in the 8200 block of River Road Pike.

An officer at the scene confirmed to WSMV that it was an officer-involved shooting.

WSMV team has been rushed to the spot.

According to officials on the scene, emergency communication centers received phone calls about a pedestrian jumping in front of cars and throwing objects at the vehicles.

The first calls came from Cheatham County Dispatch. Two MNPD officers came and found the man and tried to communicate with him. He had a knife in his hand. An officer tried to de-escalate the situation with a Taser, but to no avail.

The man continued his actions, resulting in officers shooting him dead, Don Aaron says.

One officer used a Taser twice. They first found him around 6 p.m

On Saturday morning, a Metro Nashville police officer shot and killed a man in Madison. This is the second officer-involved shooting in 24 hours.

The TBI is also investigating the shooting in Madison.
