Oracle appoints Stuart Levey Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer | Media Pyro

AUSTIN, Texas, November 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Today Oracle announced Stuart Levy has been named vice president and chief legal officer.

“Stuart has one of the best legal minds in the country,” said the Oracle CEO, Safra Catz. “His depth of experience in technology, finance, and national security makes him well-suited to lead our legal team as we navigate diverse policy, complex regulatory, and our rapidly growing cloud business.”

Levey has more than three decades as a leader in the private and public sectors. From 2012 until 2020, he worked for the major bank HSBC Holdings. There, as Chief Legal Officer he managed an office of over 900 lawyers worldwide.

Prior to HSBC, he was named the nation’s first Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the Treasury Department by the President. George W. Bush. He remained in that role at the request of President Barack Obama.

Levey has held several senior positions at the United States Department of Justice.

Most recently, Levey served as CEO of the Diem Association. He is also a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Levey is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
