RNC won’t pay Trump’s legal bills if he makes another bid for White House, chairman says | Media Pyro

The Republican National Committee will not pay the legal bills for former President Donald Trump if he wants to make a bid for the White House in 2024.

“We can’t pay legal bills for a declared candidate. And these are the bills that came out of the Letitia James trial that started when she was president,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told on CNN Sunday. “Our executive committee elected our former president, this is a politically motivated investigation, and that’s what it is.”

The RNC announced in November that it had paid legal fees “related to political activities conducted on behalf of President Trump,” according to The Hill, including investigations of Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. and New York. Attorney General Letitia James.

That aid will end if Trump files a bid in 2024, making him the current candidate for president.

“We cannot contribute to any candidate at this time. He is the former president who is under attack from all avenues and lawsuits, and he has risen significantly more under the RNC than we have. spend on these bills,” McDaniel said.

The Trump Organization is at the center of a Vance criminal investigation that says the company evaded taxes and funneled money to billionaires for more than 15 years.
