LOS ANGELES (KABC) — After reports of a shooting at a Los Angeles high school Friday, school police said the campus was cleared with no signs of gunfire or victims.
Authorities responded to the school, located at 4650 West Olympic Boulevard, shortly after noon.
Police received reports of multiple students being shot, but they believe it may have been a prank call.
In an abundance of caution, multiple units responded to the school, officials said.
A statement released by school police said the campus was placed on lockdown while school police and officers from the Los Angeles Police Department conducted a “systematic search of the campus.”
School officials said they found no evidence of shots being fired or a gun being pointed.
All student and staff accounts are secure. After that, the functioning of the school returned to normal.
