Augusta, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with last month’s fatal shooting on Washington Road.
Julius Riddick Jr., 20, was arrested in connection with the Oct. 17 shooting death at the busy Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins location at 3024 Washington Road.
Riddick is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felon, according to jail records. He remained in the Richmond County Jail as of Monday afternoon.
Reginald Eugene Johnson, 32, of Augusta, was fatally shot in the Oct. 17 incident and died at 11:59 p.m.
Authorities arrested John Lee Scarborough, 35, of Augusta, on Friday in connection with the murder.
According to an arrest warrant for Scarborough, Johnson and another suspect shot at each other while he was in Scarborough’s car. Johnson was fatally shot in the head.
Scarborough is charged with simple domestic battery in addition to murder, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and an outstanding arrest warrant from another agency.
Murder was part of this An outbreak of deadly violence that claimed 50 lives has rocked the CSRA since the spring.
The most recent killing was over the weekend. A 17-year-old victim was murdered. An arrest was made within hours of the incident.
