Delaware State Police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile on weapons charges following a shooting in Dover Sunday afternoon.
On October 30, 2022, at approximately 2:05 a.m., troopers responded to Joshua Clayton Road in Dover for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, troopers learned that a 26-year-old male was walking in the area and a male suspect fired multiple handguns in his direction. The victim was not injured. A subsequent investigation revealed that a 16-year-old male had fired approximately twelve rounds at the victim before fleeing the area on foot.
The juvenile suspect was later identified by detectives and taken into custody at his residence on November 1, 2022. He was taken to Troop 3 and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a firearm by a person under 21 (felony)
- Reckless Endangerment First Degree (Felony)
The juvenile was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court # 2 and released after posting a $1,500 cash bond.
