On July 9, 2022, at 8:32 p.m., Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to District 2 (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to Lundys Lane and Garner Road in the City of Niagara. Falling for reports of a shooting that just happened.
Officers arrived to find an elderly woman with a gunshot wound. Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics, assisted by members of the Niagara Falls Fire Department, provided medical assistance at the scene. Orange Air Ambulance attended and transported the victim, an adult female, to an out-of-town trauma center for advanced medical treatment. The victim was later found to have been struck by a ball-bearing (BB) which is believed to have been discharged from a black pistol-style pellet gun. The victim was released from the hospital and is recovering at home from his injuries.
Detectives assigned to the 2nd District Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB), which took over the investigation, have obtained the images of the accused. Detectives are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect described as follows:
– Male
– White
– 18 to 25 years
– About 6’0” tall
– Black hair
– Wears a white collared dress shirt
– Wears black pants
– Wears black shoes
– Believed to have many tattoos on left arm between elbow and wrist
He fled the scene eastbound on Lundy Lane on a black bicycle. Notably, the rear tire of the bicycle is different than the front tire which appears to have a white-walled rim.
The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous. The public is encouraged not to approach and to contact 911 immediately.
Detectives are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. Residents/businesses in the area with CCTV footage capturing Lundy’s path between Garner Road and Montrose Road, and motorists in the area with an active dash camera, are encouraged to review their footage and contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111. , Option #3, Extension #1009494.
