Suspect who opened fire at Cook Out restaurant arrested | Media Pyro

Chesterfield, Va. (WWBT) – Chesterfield Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting at a Cook Out restaurant on Midlothian Turnpike.

On Sunday, July 31, police were called to the Cook Out restaurant at 8241 Midlothian Turnpike for a report of a man who had been shot.

Officers arrived to find a woman with a gunshot wound.

The woman was admitted to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries

On Thursday, Oct. 13, officials were able to release video of a driver firing a gun through a car door.

After further investigation, officers were able to issue a warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Jose D. Hernandez.

Hernandez is charged with:

  • Careless handling of a firearm
  • Illegally shoot another person
  • Unlawfully shoot at a motor vehicle
  • Unlawfully discharging a firearm in a building.

Police were able to locate and arrest Hernandez, who is now being held on bond at the Riverside Regional Jail.
