DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — A Ladson man has been charged in connection with a shooting early Saturday morning, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office said.

Anthony Pressley II, 29, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter, Lt. Rick Carson said.

Carson said multiple people called 911 at 8:19 a.m. from Kensington Place and Stratford Drive near Dorchester Road in the King’s Grant neighborhood to report a disturbance and gunshots.

“Callers reported an incident at Kensington Place,” Carson said. “The drivers of the two vehicles exchanged words. Subsequently, shots were fired and one person was injured.

The victim died on the spot. First responding officers found the victim on the side of the road, Carson said.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident or what led up to it is asked to call the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office at 843-832-0300.
