Ascend Fort Lee will open for taking recreational weed orders Thursday, NJ Advance Media has been told exclusively by the multi-state operator that owns the dispensary.
This dispensary received a permit from the Fort Lee Planning Board late Monday, the final step the business needed to begin selling hard weed and become the 21st store in New Jersey to dispense mature weeds.
Customers can order online at letsascend.com starting Wednesday, Nov. 16, and will be available for appointment-only pickup at the Fort Lee store starting this Thursday, according to Caitlin Fleishman, Vice President of General Affairs for Ascend.
Ascend received state approval from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission months ago to expand to selling mature weed at the 461 West Street location. The dispensary, located in a former Staples store, began selling medical marijuana on Aug. 12.
After Thursday’s soft launch, an official grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19. Right now, the store is only offering online tickets, but Fleishman said it could be The hospital is open to the public for pedestrians.
Ascend Fort Lee is the company’s flagship location in New Jersey and its third facility to open. The company also has stores in Rochelle Park and Montclair.
Medical drug patients will continue to receive the main treatment as prescribed by the CRC and medical drug access, direct access to the front entrance, private information rooms, parking spaces and medical drug sales hours, says Fleishman.

Fort Lee’s proximity to New York state is important because the Empire State is on track to open its first recreational drug dispensary by the end of the year, banning others delay. That means New York competes with New Jersey for serious weed buyers in northern counties, such as Bergen.
