Detectives are investigating a Harlem double shooting that injured four women Friday night.
Police said shots rang out in front of an apartment building at 148 West 143rd St. around 11:15 p.m. Nov. 4.
According to law enforcement sources, the two victims were standing in front of the location when a group of shooters across the street began opening fire. The exact cause of the shooting is not yet known.
Among the women, an 18-year-old woman was hit four times in the left arm and abdomen, and a second victim, a 35-year-old woman, was hit in the left arm, police said.
After the shots were fired, the suspect fled the scene on foot westbound on West 143rd Street, police said.
Officers from 32nd Precinct responded to the shooting. EMS transported the victims to Harlem Hospital, where both were listed in stable condition with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for the perpetrators, who NYPD sources described as black males wearing ski masks. No one has been arrested so far in the ongoing investigation.
