Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department announced Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson was arrested Wednesday in connection with the August shooting.

On August 28, Robinson was shot twice as the victim of an attempted robbery or carjacking in Washington, DC.

A 17-year-old juvenile male (who was 16 at the time of the crime) has been charged with assault with intent to rob while armed (firearm), police said Wednesday.

The police said that the investigation in the case is going on.

Robinson, a 2022 third-round draft pick out of the University of Alabama, was lucky that both bullets went through the knee, missing all major parts (ligaments, tendons, bones) and causing no major damage.

Robinson underwent surgery following the shooting and began the 2022 regular season on the team’s reserve/non-football injury list until early October. He made his NFL debut on October 9 against the Titans.

Robinson rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown in four games.
