WILLMAR — A 15-year-old male and a 21-year-old male are in custody after two individuals were shot in Willmar Saturday night.
One of the injured was treated at St. Cloud Hospital and released, the Wilmar Police Department reported. Another person refused medical treatment and suffered minor injuries.
Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Third Street Southeast at 11:12 p.m. Saturday.
Two suspects were identified and arrested. The 21-year-old suspect is from St. Cloud and faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault, according to a Willmar Police Department news release. He is being held at Kandiyohi County Jail.
The 15-year-old male juvenile is from Wilmar and will face similar charges, according to the news release. He is being held in the Prairie Lakes Youth Program Security Unit in Wilmar.
Detective Sgt. Chad Nelson said in a news release that the shooting does not appear to be accidental. The individuals knew each other and the encounter was following a recent dispute.
The Willmar Police Department was assisted by the Kandiohi County and Meeker County Sheriff’s Offices and the Litchfield and St. Cloud Police Departments.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
