Child laborer rescued from bakery in Guwahati | Media Pyro

Guwahati: A minor was reportedly rescued by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) from a bakery in Guwahati’s Jyotikuchi.

The bakery named Ananda Bakery has been accused of involving underage workers.

The GMC had materials and complaints based on which they raided the bakery and found a minor engaged in the activities.

The owner, identified as Raj Narayan Pradhan, has been booked under sections related to violation of rules.

The bakery was also accused of violating hygiene regulations.

The rescued child was handed over to the child welfare committee, and a case was registered against the owner by the Department of Labor and Employment.

An investigation into other violations is underway.
