CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – Five days after a roadside shooting in Chula Vista claimed the life of a 38-year-old father of three.

“He’s my little brother. We miss him so much,” Celeste Villasenor said.

When a small memorial grows at the scene, a grieving sister struggles to cope.

“Horror and disbelief,” Villasenor said.

Last Wednesday, around 10 a.m. Police say two cars stopped in the middle of the street in the 500 block of E Street, according to witnesses. The two drivers approached each other and one shot the other and drove off.

Eddie Villasenor Jr. was found in the driver’s seat of his Nissan Altima with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the hospital but died.

“Our family is devastated. Our hearts are broken,” Villasenor said through tears.

She calls her little brother — the father of three children, ages 19, 5 and 4 — a devoted father and hard worker. Worked as a cook in several restaurants.

She doesn’t know where he went that morning, but when told about the possibility of a road rage encounter, she’s puzzled.

“My brother was a lover, not a fighter,” Villasenor said.

She says Eddie was a good driver and doesn’t remember the last time she saw him upset about anything.

“Eddie was a loving person, a happy person. Always telling jokes. A smile on his face. A positive person,” Villasenor said.

Her brother’s life in broad daylight, on a busy street.

“Evil. My brother didn’t deserve that. It was very cowardly,” Villasenor said.

The suspect is described as a bald, light-skinned man who drives an older model gray Nissan Altima.

Police said there was a circular sticker on the rear passenger window, a sticker on the trunk and a stick on the rear passenger side.

Villasenor says he doesn’t know anyone who owns a car like that or wants to hurt his brother.

She hopes someone who can identify the shooter will come forward.

“We ask you with all our hearts to come forward … my brother deserves justice,” Villasenor said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses.
