Biswanath Chariali, Nov 6: Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s timeless song ‘Manuhe Manuhor Babe’ was performed in a coordinated program held near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, about 25 km north of Biswanath Chariali, in a total of 13 languages.
This plan was jointly organized by Pabhoi Regional Students’ Union and with the cooperation of East Biswanath Regional All Bodo Students’ Union, Garo Regional Students’ Union of Biswanath Region and people of different ethnic groups bordering Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The event marked the 11th death anniversary of Bhupen Hazarika at Edenbari Primary School in Koylajuli, Biswanath.
General Adviser of All Assam Students Union AASU Dr. Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya was also present at the event. The event attracts people from various communities including Chautali, Garo, Oriya, Nepali, Boro, Munda, Adivasi, Tea Tribe, Paraja, Bhojpuri, Karbi and Bengali. This song was sung in 13 different languages by people.
A cultural group made up of different ethnic groups was organized by the deputy chairman of the district students’ union, Biswanath Azmat Sheikh.
Bhattacharya, while talking to the media, said that this remote area has become a meeting place for different ethnic groups.
