One man arrested in connection with Wednesday’s Hattiesburg shooting | Media Pyro

Hattiesburg, Miss. (WDMAM) – Hattiesburg Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a shooting Wednesday.

According to HPD, 20-year-old Justin Williams of Hattiesburg has been charged with 1st-degree murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.

More arrests are pending as the investigation continues.

Five people were injured in the shooting and admitted to a local hospital. Two later died of their injuries.

Among the dead were 48-year-old Ricardo Hollingworth and 57-year-old Sherry Strickland. Both were from Hattiesburg.

Two others were treated at a local hospital and released. HPD reports that one injured person is still in the hospital.

HPD said the shooting was an isolated incident stemming from a dispute between neighbors.
